Thank you - The Torretto Family
Solomons Court is the web page for the personal ministry of
Richard "Rick" Torretto to publish the Good News of Jesus Christ. Solomons Court was the center for scripture study and promulgation of the Yahwist and Elohist tradition of the Pentateuch, and where court scribes committed most of the scriptures to written form. Solomon who "prayed for Wisdom" when he became King of Israel, became renown for his wisdom and is an Old Testament "type" of the greater wisdom of Jesus Christ (Matthew 12: 42). Jesus is known to have taught in the Portico of Solomon (John
10:23).
The ministry of Rick Torretto not only includes evangelization, preaching and teaching, but also the publication of the Good News through audio and video cassettes, books, pamphlets, tracts and newsletters. All presentations are Scripture-based, Christ-Centered, and obedient to the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church.
Rick Torretto is available to give retreats, seminars, days of renewal, missions, conferences, Scripture Teachings, Bible classes and workshops. His area of expertise is extremely varied and not limited to the following: Divine Mercy, Marian Movement, Charismatic Gifts (especially the Gift of Personal Prophecy), Scripture, Spirituality (especially the Three Stages of the Interior Life), all forms of prayer, Spiritual Warfare, Spiritual Direction, and the Millennium.
Following are 8
highlights of the 50 tape and CD
collections that Rick has produced. The complete tape listing is found on the Order Form.

A God Called Father |
Pope John Paul II designated 1999: the Year of the Father. Statistics prove the role of the Father is greatly lacking in America. Many Books and seminars are titled "Father Hunger" during this time of "Deadbeat Dads" and "Absentee Fathers." Even a call for "inclusive language" instead of male/masculine language used in the Bible and Catholic Church Liturgy is an assault upon the Fatherhood of God. Why?
 |
TAPE NO. 1: What's in a Name?
Our Semitic Spiritual Ancestors believed a name denoted a person's character,
role or mission. The revelation of the Devine Name is a great and solemn
occasions in the Old and in the New Testament. How does God want to be called? |
 |
TAPE NO. 2: Jesus Reveals the Father
St. Paul called Jesus "the image of God" in Colossians. In answer to Phillip:
"Jesus said to him, 'Have I been with you all this time, Phillip, and you still
do not know me? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father...." What does Jesus
reveal about the Father? |
 |
TAPE NO. 3: Our Father -- A
God of Mercy
After the fall of Adam and Eve, God reveals His name as MERCY. The Plan of
Salvation is an Act of Mercy. What does Divine Mercy tell us about the Father? |
 |
TAPE NO. 4: God's Fatherhood Makes Me His Child
God as Creator is not just a parent who give life to his child, but a father who is intimately concerned with each of his children. Significance is seen in one of the promises made to Zachariah that his son John would turn "the heart of the fathers to their children." Learn why God the Father has no Grandchildren. |
 |
TAPE NO. 5: My Father Loves to Celebrate
Isaiah 25 says God will prepare a banquet of rich food and fine wines. In
Revelation an angel called blessed those invited to the Lamb's wedding feast.
Jesus changes 120 gallons of water into the finest wine. Why is the Father so
interested in a good party? |
 |
TAPE NO. 6: Abba Father: Praying Like Jesus
United to Jesus by Baptism, we pray the Our Father and it becomes the basic form
of our faith. It becomes our Road Map back to the Father. It also gives us a
foretaste of Heaven as we consciously and trustingly live its life of
Trinitarian Spirituality. |

TAPE NO. 1: A Short Life Story of Sister Faustina
A happy young girl heard the Lord call her at age 7. She never stopped listening and obeying His every wish. She "Trusted in Jesus" even when her body was racked with
consumption and constant pain never allowed her sleep. She united all pain to the Passion of Jesus so completely that she could say "My Name is Sacrifice." |
 |
TAPE NO. 2: The Spiritual Life of Sister Faustina
With barely a 3rd Grade education, she grew in a spiritual life with her God. Obeying her spiritual director she kept a diary of her spiritual knowledge and experiences that can be read as a theological treatise on the mystical life equal to St. Teresa of Avila. |
 |

meaning. Through it you can learn more about the Plan of Divine Mercy. |
 |
TAPE NO. 4: Divine Mercy and the Blessed Sacrament of the Eucharist
The Blessed Sacrament is the source and summit of all grace. Divine Mercy is
God's greatest attribute. They are one and the same in the Eucharist. |
 |

The Book Of Ruth
"Desiring the Lord of the Harvest"
|
"These six talks were originally taped in the Spring of 1988. Since that time I have continued to read, study and pray The Book of Ruth, one of my favorite Bible Stories. I started my series on The Millennium and then The Song of Songs: "The Mystical Journey of the Soul as the Bride of Christ," I was compelled to rewrite my notes on The Book of Ruth and record them again.
 |
TAPE NO. 1: Introduction and Background
The Book of Ruth is a beautiful story of a woman seeking or desiring a man, not just any man, he is The Lord of the Harvest. The Book of Ruth
is read on the Jewish Harvest Feast, Pentecost, when God forms His Bride, The
Church. |
 |
TAPE NO. 2: Chapter One: "Ruth is Saved."
As the story begins Naomi finds herself a widow in a foreign land a widow with no sons, only foreign daughters-in-law. One daughter-in-law, Ruth, returns with her to Bethlehem to seek provision and protection. Ruth, the Moabitess, is saved by coming under the protection of Yahweh. |
 |
TAPE NO. 3: Chapter Two: "Ruth is Serving."
Ruth works to support herself and her mother-in-law by gleaning in the fields of
Boaz, and catching his eye. He becomes enamored of her and gives her special
favors which she accepts but does not continue to expect. She knows her place. |
 |
TAPE NO. 4: Chapter Three: "Ruth is Seeking."
Naomi, knowing the rules of Kinsmen Redemption instructs Ruth to seek out The
Lord of the Harvest, to express her desire to be redeemed or made his bride.
Boaz agrees, but states there is another with first right. Ruth must wait. The
seven steps in seeking The Lord of the Harvest are given in this chapter. |
 |
TAPE NO. 5: Chapter Four: "Ruth is Satisfied."
Boaz fulfills his promise and gets the right of redemption and takes Ruth as his
bride. The worker becomes the wife. Their son is the grandfather of David. |
 |
TAPE NO. 6: Knowing the Lord of the Harvest
We serve a passionate God who is in love with each of us. He desires and intimate relationship like that depicted in The Book of Ruth. In this teaching we see how "knowing" The Lord of the Harvest
takes on a fuller meaning. |

The Marriage Feast of the Lamb
"The Wedding Imagery of Jesus |
Jesus will return not as a carpenter, teacher, shepherd or high priest. He will come as BRIDEGROOM and KING (Revelations 19: 6-9). Jesus in many parables describes His relationship to man as a marriage feast and a wedding. Paul in 2 Corinthians 11: 2 says: "The jealousy that I feel for you is, you see, God's own jealousy: I gave you all in marriage to a single husband, a virgin pure for presentation to Christ. Pope John Paul B in his encyclical, "Mulieris Dignitatem," extends this symbolism by writing "In the Church every human being - male and female - is the `bride', by accepting the gift of the love of Christ the redeemer, and by responding with the gift of self."
 |
TAPE NO. 1: Bridal Symbolism in the Old and New Testaments
"When that day comes, declares Yahweh, you will call me `My husband'... and I shall betroth you to myself for ever..." (Hos 2: 16-20) Hoses was the first to interpret in nuptial terms the covenant God made with his people who become a Church, bride and mother. This symbolism is completed in the New Testament. |
 |
TAPE NO. 2: Selection-Price-Betrothal-Consent-Covenant Cup-Gifts
Jesus, the Bridegroom, follows the Jewish paradigm of Marriage. The father chose the bride or concurred in his son's choice; the price had to be sufficiently "hard" to pay, establishing the value of the bride; 1st part of the marriage is the betrothal with a contract agreed to by the Father and two witnesses; when bride consents, s cup of wine is shared and finalized with gifts given to the bride. |
 |
TAPE NO. 3: Mikvah-Groom Leaves-Consecration-Groom Returns
The bride is purified for her wedding even today in Israel. The bridegroom leaves "to prepare a place for his bride," and the bride is "set apart," or
consecrated for her bridegroom. The bridegroom returns to take his bride to the wedding chamber he has prepared. |
 |
TAPE NO. 4: Chuppah-Marriage Supper
The 2nd half of the wedding ceremony takes place under a bridal canopy The marriage is consummated and the marriage supper concludes the ceremony. |

The Song of Songs
of
Solomon
The Mystical Journey
of the Soul
as the Bride of Christ |
These five talks comment on and teach about the unique position this book has held in the teachings of the Jewish Rabbis and the mystics and poets of the Christian era. Its preeminence is defined by the first word in its title: The Song of Songs. I have followed the traditional interpretation of the Jewish and Christian Scholars: The Song is an ALLEGORY of God's love for His Chosen people and Jesus, the Messiah, for the Mystical Soul: His Bride. Extensive quotes are given from the Fathers of the Church, especially St. Gregory of Nyssa, St. Clement of Alexandria, St. Ambrose and St. Augustine. St. Bernard of Clairvaux and St. Thomas Aquinas are quoted along with St. Teresa of Avila and St. John of the Cross. All this is done to give the listeners a new insight into The Song of Songs as a help in their Spiritual Progress. Understanding The Song of Songs is so important for those who seek perfection in spirituality that St. Francis de Sales put as much comment on it as possible in his work: The Introduction to the Devout Life.

Times
of
Refreshment
Refreshment, Restoration,
Revival, and
The Third Millennium |
The first four talks were taped live during the Vigil of Pentecost Ceremonies at Our Lady Queen of Angels Chapel, Independence, Missouri, based on Acts 3: 19-21 "Now you must repent and turn to God so that your sins may be wiped out, and so that the Lord may send the times of refreshment." The next two tapes are individual talks given on other occasions that augment and complement the other talks.
 | TAPE NO. 1: A 3rd Pentecost? What are the Signs?
Before Vatican II, Pope John XXIII prayed for a 'New Pentecost' in the Church. Pope John Paul II declared 1998 the Year of the Holy Spirit. Are these years beginning a New Pentecost asked for by the Vicar of Christ? |
 | TAPE NO. 2: Refreshment: Be a Spiritual Sponge
Once saturated a sponge loses its usefulness until it is squeezed. Gifts freely received must be freely given. |
 | TAPE NO. 3: Restoration: God Makes it Better Than Before
God always restores beyond the original. St. Augustine sings "O Felix Culpa" O happy sin of Adam, since now we have the Incarnation. God restores double or according to the best (Exodus 22: 4-5) |
 | TAPE NO. 4: Recipe for Revival: God's Power and Your Response
God has given us and continues to give us the Authority (Power) and ability (Power) and our Response must be POWER: Prayer, Occupancy of Ground, Witness, Evangelization and Right Order. |
 | TAPE NO. 5: Jesus Fulfills Pentecost by Empowering His Bride
Rabbis say that on Mount Sinai on the first Pentecost (50 days) God gave the Covenant and made Israel a Nation and His bride. Jesus makes the Church His Bride on the Second Pentecost. |
 | TAPE NO. 6: Son of Man Can These Bones Live?
Ezekiel's experience at the Valley of Dry Bones speaks to us of the Spiritual refreshment, restoration and revival of the individual and the Army of God. |

Deception and Discernment
"The Poison & the Antidote" |
These two talks teach on the theology and use of the Gift of Discernment of Spirits as the antidote to the poison of Deception so prevalent now and which will increase in intensity as we approach the Third Millennium.
 | TAPE NO. 1: Deception: the weapon of the Devil to poison the faith life of the Christian
This is a teaching on the theological understanding of the power of the devil to use deception to distort the vision of the eyes of faith of a Christian. An astigmatic defect of the lens of the physical eye prevents the lens from the focusing of sharp, distinct images: Things are seen as blurred. By deception the Devil prevents you from seeing things as they are spiritually, thereby causing you to miss your mark (the Greek word for sinning). |
 | TAPE NO. 2: Discernment: The Gift of Spirits: Gods antidote for the poison of Deception
This teaching focuses on the nature of this gift by its very title "Discerning of Spirits" (1 Cor 12:10). The Holy Spirit gives us a gift that is invaluable in determining the source of any thought, action, persons motive, event, prophecy, etc. We are able to know whether the tings is a sheep or a wolf in sheeps clothing. The source is determined to be either the Holy Spirit, the Human Spirit, or an Evil Spirit. Theological and practical insights are given for this most important gift as you approach The Coming Millennium. |
